This book notes that there are 4 billion oral communicators in the world today that can’t or choose not to take in new information or communicate by literate means. Oral communicators are found in every cultural group in the world and make up approximately two-thirds of the world’s population. And yet an estimated 90% of the world’s Christian workers present the gospel using highly literate communication styles. It is not enough to take the gospel message created in literate forms and transfer them into audible forms like on CD or video. An “oral” style of communication consists in the form of stories, poetry, chants, music, and dances to effectively narrate God’s word.
This resource also describes practical steps that various churches, organizations and agencies are taking and specific ways to improve effectiveness in making disciples of oral learners. Additional resources include oral, chronological, narrative presentations of God’s word, in order to disciple and equip leaders. Only 71 pages!
