Direction, Dream Job, and Education

Ever since I left California in January 2004, to come to Kentucky, I have been praying about purpose and direction in the present and for the future.
For the past six months, as graduation was approaching quickly, I have been actively seeking a job. My dream job is to serve the local church in all areas of outreach, especially sports outreach.
At the end of October 2007, I interviewed for a job at a church in San Antonio. The trip went well and the church was doing a lot of great things. The sports outreach department is the area that I would work in, which is one of the best church sports departments I have seen. While this would have been a great opportunity, it became clear that this was not the direction for my wife and I, and also got a sense that I should do this where it is not being done.
There have been additional jobs that I have applied for that have also been met with closed doors. Right now there are two options that I am considering and praying through.
(Preface: I need to be connected to a local church, excited about it’s direction, and have the opportunity to use my gifts. Also, working bi-vocationally is my only option at this point, and I’m OK with that. This list is in no particularly order).
1. New Dawn. This is where Arelis and I currently serve in Crestwood, KY. This is an Hispanic mission that is growing and has the goal to be self-supporting. I currently work with the youth and have lead in the area of sports outreach. I would look for a full-time position a part from my service at the church.
2. Sandals Church. This is the church that I came from in Riverside, CA. I began attending Sandals in the summer of 2000. At Sandals I would volunteer in the areas of local and global outreach, and lead in sports outreach opportunities.
Currently I have been looking for a job but haven’t lined up anything yet. There are Physical Education jobs available, that would be stable and flexible to begin implementing some sports outreach ideas that I have, but I would need more education, a teaching credential. I am considering this option and know that I can get in on an “intern status,” but I still need prerequisites to even get into a program and thus apply for a job.
I have also applied to good old Cal Baptist. There is a faculty position in the Kinesiology Department, but my M.A is not in Physical Education and I don’t have a PhD. So guess what that means? I need more education! What the heck! I’m tired of school (not learning).
I’m ready to move on to the next phase of my life. Anybody hiring? I’m frustrated, but trying to keep it all in a proper perspective.

We’ll be praying that God shows you two to come back to Sandals.. haha! Seriously, we’ll be praying for you to clearly see where it is God wants you.
Wish I knew what to say…I love you just does not seem to be enough in this instance. Chris know you are not the only one who is praying.
What I can say is that great movements have come from adversity and people in leadership not being supportive. This causes you to seek God more, rely on Him more and refine the vision that He has given you. It draws out your passion and matches it to Gods plan.
When that happens with you, I will be pumped! I believe in you! Do not give up.
I ditto my husband. But, just to add a little personal note to that…it would be great if God led you back our direction. We have missed you out here, and it would be amazing to get to know your wife better. I know this is selfish on my part, but I had to let you know that we love you guys and would love to serve with you out here. Although, it doesn’t matter what I think…obedience to God is always the first priority.
