Wordpress Puts A Face On A Comment

Have you ever noticed the pictures that are linked with a comment on a blog? Ever wonder why your picture doesn’t show up?
Let me visually demonstrate, Exhibit A:
The picture that is displayed, either in comment sections after a post or on a side bar, is called an Avatar feature. If your blog supports (widget designed in your theme) or has been activated to display this feature, your mug will be displayed when you leave a comment on another avatar supported, activated blog. Entienda?
If you have a Wordpress blog that supports this feature and you want to activate it, then go through this check list:
1. Log on to your wordpress account and go to your profile.
2. Add a picture to the Avatar Section.
3. Update the “display name publicly as” and save changes (if the name your prefer is not there, add to nickname).
#3 is where bloggers, that are Avatar ready, have a problem displaying there picture with a comment. The “display name publicly as” in your profile is what needs to be entered in a comment section, if you want your mug to show up.
Most profiles, by default, display the name of your blog (balleronamission). If you want to leave a comment on a blog, under a different name, make the changes like I did above. C.Harv takes up way less space than Balleronamission. If you make these changes in your profile and log in to a comment section with the same name, you should be good to go.
If your blog doesn’t have this feature, and you want it, change your theme. If you are a blogging pro and you have the capability to edit your blog and add plug ins, then adding this feature will not be a problem either.
I know Wordpress and eblogger (blogspot) have these features, but what about all you Typepad users?
Here’s to know more faceless comments!

Great Post & thanks for sharing. I’ve saved it.
I used to have brown hair like yours and look young . . . . .but now I am much better looking!
I always wondered how that works. Thanks!
Hey my face used to show up. How come it doesn’t on your post?
Ahh…There it is!
Nevermind.
