Master’s 08 Highlights

The 2008 Master’s Tournament officially tees off tomorrow and there are many highlights that stand out this year.
1. Live Video Coverage. Augusta National has added many new features to their Official Website that include extending their live video courage of the tournament at Amen Corner (Holes 11, 12, 13), Holes 15 and 16, and live interviews with the players.
2. ESPN Televising the Par 3 Contest. On top of the beautiful 18 holes at Augusta National, there is a separate 9 hole, par 27, 1,060 yard Par 3 Course. The Par 3 event began in 1960 and is in the exact, sweet condition as the regular course. This event is really fun for families because the players kids get to caddy for them (of course with a lighter golf bag). The Par 3 has never been televised, so I expect many will tune in today to watch the courage (3:00-5:00 PM ET).
3. Youth Golf Initiative. All youth, ages 8-16, will be admitted FREE on Tournament days when accompanied by an accredited patron (someone whose individual name is on the Series Badge application). The Master’s Committee is really trying hard to further the game of golf to youth and international audiences this year.
4. Amen Corner’s 50th Anniversary. Amen Corner is one of the most beautiful, tournament-deciding spots on the whole golf course. This section of the golf course (again holes 11-13) was named by golf writer Herbert Warren Wind. Amen indeed! My favorite is the par 5, 13th. Below is the bridge from the 11th hole to the 12th hole and another bridge from the 12th to the 13th hole.

Can’t wait!
I’m sure I will be watching……but not because I want to but because that’s what you’ll be watching and we only have 1 TV! Hopefully you won’t stress me out watching golf like you do when you watch a basketball game.
Yep, got my DVR set on CBS to get it all. Check out my blog to see my take on the Master’s. Wouldn’t miss it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
