Master’s Week Reminiscing

In 2000, I had the privilege to go to the Master’s (Augusta National Golf Club) for the first time. Television, video, and photography give us just a glimpse into the beauty and history of one of the greatest courses and tournaments in golf.
The pictures to the left are Tom Lehman on the 14th Tee and Sergio Garcia on the practice range. I took these photos during the practice rounds because cameras are not prohibited during the tournament.
Don’t want to aggravate Tiger, right, or get kicked out of the most sought after ticket in golf!
I did say it was a privilege to go to this tournament for a reason. Want to go? Your options are either to win a lottery ticket (for practice rounds only), pay top dollar from somebody who got their hands on some tickets, or know the right people.
Want to get on the list for your own Tournament Tickets? Forget about it!
Here is the Master’s Official Statement on Tournament Tickets:
Tournament or “Series” Badges (Thursday through Sunday) have been sold to those on our patron list which was closed due to demand in 1972. A waiting list began in 1972, and was closed in 1978. It reopened in 2000, and it too is now closed. No applications for “Series” Badges are currently being accepted.
If you love golf, you love this tournament. It’s Master’s Week, people!
More highlights to come.
