Essay Contest Results
by Chris Harvey on 10/30/08
Back in July, I announced this essay contest I was entering, and since then have been patiently and curiously waiting the results (judging results were due at the end of August).
And the results are in. Drum roll please…..
Nobody won!
The word is that there wasn’t enough essays submitted. I don’t know if that means that 2 people signed up or what, but the decision was made to not award any one with prize money.
However, those who did submit an essay were rewarded with a free pair of shoes (minus shipping cost). And they even had my size!
Here is a clip of my new sneakers that are being shipped:
“The original Nike Vandal Low basketball shoe was introduced in 1984 and became an instant classic, especially due to its distinctive color-highlighted piping and knit-tape Velcro straps. The style was discontinued in 1987. The shoe was reintroduced by Nike as a retro sneaker culture class.”
What do you think of the essay contest results? Like the kicks?
More details to come of what I wrote about in my essay and how I hope to “Make History Now.”
***Update: order denied, they are out of my size and didn’t update the retail store.***
