Gonzaga Athletics Marketing Video

I just came across this new marketing campaign for the Gonzaga Bulldogs Athletic Department (via Sports Business Radio).

The campaign is targeting new season ticket accounts for the girls basketball team. The theme is grounded in the idea that the “team needs your help” and uses a video application similar to the “running for President” sites that put your name in the video.

However, this site takes a step forward and actually calls the phone number that you enter and ties in a recorded message from the coach that is is in video.

Check it out for yourself here. You just enter your name and a phone number (below is picture of the site). The word is that the name and phone numbers are kept private (so no spamming) and just used for the video campaign online.

I entered my home number and they actually called it (long distance from Washington to Kentucky).

Pretty cool! It would interesting to see how this type of video application could be used for marketing/connecting with people in other social arenas.
