Help me pick a Sneaker Design
Thanks to the suggestion from my brother-in-law Jose, I finally got my hands on a editing application (Gimp) alternative to Photoshop.
Now I can enter the Shoe Design Contest that I mentioned a few posts ago!
I just began working on a few basic designs last night and I’m continuing to learn how to use the tools in the application. Designing sneakers is a dream, but it can be time consuming and I have plenty to learn (especially for this beginner).
I believe I can upload a few designs for the contest, so help me pick two:
What do you think? It’s ok you can be honest. I know I’m a rookie in this game. And don’t worry, I will be keeping my day job!
I have discovered that is a lot easier to critique what you like or don’t like based on a designed product, rather than designing a product yourself from a blank canvas.

2 and 4 have the best color set up. great color scheme, id wear 2 and 4 for sure. maybe not that particular shoe, but you get the point.
I like 2 and 4.
#2 for me.
You have a bad link to “Shoe Design Contest.”
Thanks for the link heads up, I fixed it.
Also thanks for the sneaker design votes. I got another design I forgot about, but I’ll post it later.
stick with the day job, not thrilled with anyone of them. Sorry
I like 4 or 5.
Looks like #4 is getting a lot of love. I am not a big fan of white shoes, so I like #1 and #5 mainly because I love black shoes on the court. With the red or blue I think it looks good.
Chris! Hey. I like 1 & 5. Don’t know if it’s too late.
So Chris, have you heard if you won yet? If you know anything about the outcome of the contest let me know.
Thanks,
Kris.
No, I haven’t heard anything yet. I was having trouble uploading the designs at first, but was able to after contacting web master.
I know this is an old post but I have a 14 year old who is really into designing sports shoes. I was just wondering if you could tell me what computer programs you found helped you with this contest. Thanks.
you need to use more colors to bring out the characteristics of the shoe. Just like on a map, nothing with the same color touching. You can use 2 or 3 colors, just spread them out
