New Books to Read

by on 12/04/08

Here are a few books that are on my reading list.

Crazy Love is a book by pastor and first-time author, Francis Chan.

I have heard nothing but great things about Francis Chan and I look forward to reading this book (when I get it).

Description: God is calling you to a passionate love relationship with Himself.

Because the answer to religious complacency isn’t working harder at a list of do’s and don’ts, its falling in love with God.

And once you encounter His love, you will never be the same.

Tribes is the latest book from the pen of Seth Godin.

Descpition: Tribes is a book about marketing, apparently, except its actually about leadership.

We see Tribes behind every successful brand, organization, politician, non profit and cause.

And yet it seems almost impossible to attract a tribe.

In this book, I try to explain that the challenge is leadership, not marketing or hype.

Grand Weaver is a book by author, speaker, founder and president of RZIM, Ravi Zacharias.

I am challenged and inspired every time I listen or read from Ravi Zacharias. I have wanted to get this book ever since I saw it in the book store (so many books, so little dough).

Description: How God shapes us through the events of our lives.

Ravi traces the multiple threads of our lives, describing how the unseen hand of God guides our joy, our tragedies, our daily humdrum to weave a pattern of divine providence and meaning.

Leadership Gold by John Maxwell is actually the only book on this list that I have in my possession at this time (Father-in law hooked it up this past weekend).

This is my first book from Maxwell that I am reading, but more on that later….

What are you reading right now? Anything good?

    Bubba,
Are these on your Christmas wish list? Reading several good books: Early Christian Doctrines -J.N.D. Kelly; Exploring Church History -Perry Thomas, Healthy Church and Healthy Church Member – Dever and Tabiti; and Into Tibet – Thomas Laird. I have others, but won’t get them till after the first of the year.
