Pay Now Play Later
by Chris Harvey on 12/30/08
I came across this saying (pay now, play later), as I was reading through this book, that hit home with me.
There are many categories in life that this motto could fall under. Some are serious and others simple. Here are a few examples in my life.
* do what’s on your plate now well and thus prepare for great opportunities in the future.
* don’t spend your money on temporary desires but invest in something that will last, that will continue to have value.
* eat right for six days and then have a day off to eat what ever you want.
* consistently work out so you can enjoy the benefits of a healthy body, energy, fitting into your jeans, a longer life span with your family, self confidence, and or just chilling on the couch.
* practice the fundamentals of a jump shot or golf swing to be able to put the whole package together during game time.
* study your Spanish lessons so you can better communicate with your family and serve a church.
I could go on. We all love to play but don’t realize or don’t want to pay the price first.
What is it that you have to pay for now in order to play later?
