Martha,
C.J. Mahaney preached this message again on Sunday?
I recommended this message, which is on DVD now, on a Featured post listed above (Don't Waste Your Sports).
I will be including this DVD with a player package in a High School basketball league I'm starting.

Can you explain, specifically, how many have the tendency to prematurely proceed to practical application and specific ways to glorify God in sports? What balance are you suggesting?

Thanks for your comments.

Sunday at Covenant Life Church, C.J. Mahaney delivered the sermon Don’t Waste Your Sports from 1 Corinthians 10:31. I highly recommend the message for athletes, fans, and parents. “Participation in sports must be informed by the knowledge of God. We have a tendency, when considering the topic of glorifying God in sports, to proceed immediately to practical application and to prematurely consider specific ways we are called to glorify God in sports."
